Our notes on StrataScratch
We wrote these notes when we read the StrataScratch site for our SQL comparisons. For each note, you see the day of our check and a link to the page that we read.
We give the label "Product's own words" to a note that holds only what StrataScratch says about its own product.
StrataScratch price and plans

- On the 36 lesson pages of the free Comprehensive SQL path, we counted 161 practice items with Check Solution. We counted short exercises and interview questions together. We counted 47 in "SQL Foundations", 31 in "Aggregating & Grouping Data" and 27 in "Working with Multiple Tables". We counted 20 in "Subqueries & CTEs", 24 in "Date, Time & Text Functions" and 12 in "Windows Functions". With no account, we used Check Solution on "Artist Appearance Count" (lesson "GROUP BY Fundamentals"), "Order Details" ("INNER JOIN Fundamentals") and "Workers With The Highest Salaries" ("Understanding Subqueries"). We also used it on "Monthly Percentage Difference" ("LAG and LEAD") and "Second Highest Salary" ("PARTITION BY and Ranking Functions"). Each time, our query was wrong on purpose, and StrataScratch checked it and showed a result, for example "Solution is incorrect. Missing 73 rows and returned 1 unexpected row." StrataScratch account

StrataScratch query check and help
- With no account, we ran a two-query test with Check Solution in the free SQL path. For a rewrite with the same rows in a different order, StrataScratch showed "Correct solution". For a result one row short, StrataScratch showed "Solution is incorrect. Missing 1 row and returned 0 unexpected rows." We found no StrataScratch page that says how StrataScratch checks a result. StrataScratch SQL topics
- In the free Comprehensive SQL path, you study 6 modules. They are SQL foundations, aggregation with GROUP BY and HAVING, joins and UNION, subqueries and CTEs, date, time and text functions, and window functions. StrataScratch lists "160+" questions in the path. Checked October 20, 2026 (source)

StrataScratch updates
- On each practice question page, StrataScratch shows "Last Updated" with a month and a year, and StrataScratch gives search engines a full change date in the page. On the free PostgreSQL question "Find all posts which were reacted to with a heart", StrataScratch shows "Last Updated: October 2026" and gives search engines the date October 16, 2026.
